I'm a little confused about the state of Disk Sensei. I've owned this since 2016 — and Trim Enabler before that — but the functionality has slowly diminished over time. I used to use this to enable Trim on my aftermarket SSD but after upgrading to a 2016 MacBook Pro, I've noticed this feature comes disabled by default? If Apple doesn't feel the need to enable Trim, should I even bother at this point? It can only slow things down, right?
In addition, and more frustratingly, I cannot use the Benchmark feature on anything but the internal SSD. Any external drives, whether they be SSD or HDD will prompt me with an error that 6 GB of free space to run the test. I, of course have this and am not sure why I continue to recieve this error.
I saw the creator posted that he is going to have more time to invest in this program now... but I'm very confused as to how relevant this app is anymore, given the numerous bugs and lack of support.
In short, should I bother with Trim on a stock 2016 MacBook Pro SSD? Is there a way to get the benchmark to work on drives other than the internal one anymore? (It used to work and has been broken for a very long time.)
